The Most Effective Ways of Dealing with Premature Ejaculation

Health & Wellness, Relationships

Couple

If you have been diagnosed with premature ejaculation or it is something that you know you suffer from, then you should realise that this is not a permanent part of your life. It is a treatable problem, and we are going to discuss some things you can do treat it as well as what changes you may need to make in your life until you get it under control.

Treating PE

First of all, let’s look at some treatments. Please keep in mind that the same treatment may not work for everyone. One of the simplest and most common methods is the squeeze and release method. This involves the two sexual partners getting the male’s penis erect and ready to ejaculate, and then squeezing the head of the penis until the sensation goes away. Then do this a few more times, and hopefully, over time, you should be able to control the sensation more easily.

There is some oral medication you can take as well. These may be analgesics or antidepressants that decrease stimulation and make you less likely to be overly stimulated to the point where you cannot control your ejaculation. In other words, they make it so that it takes more sexual stimuli to get you erect and ready to ejaculate.

Counselling sessions are another good way to treat this condition. If you talk about your problem and discuss your relationship with your partner and with a therapist, you may be able to uncover what is causing the premature ejaculation. The reason isn’t always apparent, and it is not always a physical impetus, so finding out the details and getting to the bottom of it may only be possible through counselling sessions.

Living with PE

It can be difficult dealing with PE at first, but you need to realize that it is going to change your life and that there are things you can do to cope with the situation.

First of all, you need to let your partner know about the problem. Even if you just suspect that you have a PE issue, you should inform your partner so that that person can help.

Then you need to be understanding if your partner wants to wait for intercourse until you get the issue sorted out. Remember that this is a treatable condition and not one that you have to be stuck with for the rest of your life. Also remember that intercourse is a mutual experience, and if your partner isn’t comfortable with it while you are struggling with PE, then you need to be able to handle that outcome.

Next, you will want to make sure you receive treatment. You are not like to get better until you undergo some sort of treatment. Whether you go to a doctor or a therapist, you do need to have this condition treated before it becomes worse or starts affecting your life more severely.

You should also be practising techniques that will make it easier to control your ejaculation. One method is to masturbate a few hours before your intercourse, that way, you won’t be as quick to ejaculate. You could also perform pelvic floor exercise that strengthen your muscles and give you more control over what your pelvic muscles do.

You could try to increase your sexual activity a bit more as well. This is only a good idea with a committed partner, but increased sexual activity can help you to normalize intercourse and make sure that you are less likely to ejaculate prematurely.

You may need to try a combination of these methods to get something to work for you, because your PE can be slightly different from someone else’s.
